An art exhibit and reception is planned for from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 16. During this exhibit and reception, dancer-poet Allegra Silberstein, former poet laureate of Davis and member of the Senior Dance Coalition, will perform a piece to poetry of E.E. Cummings. Takako Miyashita, an ikebana artist, will perform a dance to a prose poem written in Japanese, and translated into English. Her costume is designed by noted Los Angeles designer Eloise Paris. The Mighty Pens Poetry group from Alameda Community Learning Center will also dance to an original poem.
