It is the up-to-date pop culture references and characters that keep the show new and fresh, audience members coming back over and over, and the cast on its toes. “Our producer Jo Silver and director Kenny Mazlow are watching that stuff intensely. They both scour the magazines and rags that are out there,” Nelson says. “They are always trying to update the information to keep it current. At times you will come into work and be handed a piece of paper with the new lines for your character. Sometimes we just have it thrown at us right before a show. It happens enough that it is not as flustering as it was when I first started.”.

Some changes are bigger, though, and require more than just a few line changes, Nelson says, Most recently, the show added a big number with Caitlyn Jenner depicting her Vanity Fair cover, and changes such as that require the cast to come custom dance lessons tote bag, gift for teen or girl dance student, gift tote dance ballet toe teacher, appreciation for balleri in for special rehearsals, “With Caitlyn Jenner, we knew her debut was coming but had no idea what it was going to look like or when it was going to happen, so they were just waiting to see what iconic image they would get from her,” Nelson says, “Once it came out, they were on it like nobody’s business, That cover went out one week and the very next week it was in the show, They are just that good and on top of it.”..

Over the years, Nelson has played many characters and seen many come and go. She has also had her share of memorable shows and experiences on stage, including performing for numerous celebrities and high-profile people, as well as costume malfunctions, such as the time her cowgirl character was brandishing a whip and it got caught in her wig, pulling the entire thing off of her head and launching it across the stage to where the band was sitting during a performance. “Because it’s a comical show, even a bad situation can create a funny situation,” she says. “With the wig, without missing a beat, I went over and picked it up, handed my mic to Snow White and continued to sing while I put it back on. Then, I grabbed the mic and went right back to the number. The audience went nuts. We thought it was finished, but no, the realization of my next line was perfect. The next line is, ‘You know, that country music kind of makes me want to unwind and let my hair down.’ And once again, the audience went nuts!”.

Even after so many years and performances, Nelson says she has never had a bad day on stage or being a part of “Beach Blanket Babylon.”, “My worst day can turn out to be the most hilarious,” she says, In fact, she adds, the only tough part of her job is actually her commute, since she still lives in San Jose, But there is nothing she would change, she adds, “I am very lucky and very blessed to be able to affect people in a positive way,” she says, “They walk out with a lighter step or smile on their face, singing a song or custom dance lessons tote bag, gift for teen or girl dance student, gift tote dance ballet toe teacher, appreciation for balleri reveling in the memory, It’s something that I love watching.”..

One day the time will come, she says, when she will no longer be able to perform the rigorous choreography of the show or don the elaborate and heavy wigs and hats, so she is always thinking about what’s next–maybe New York or Los Angeles, or maybe performing on cruise ships–but that is still some time away. “I don’t see that happening anytime soon, but when that time comes I will still be able to do other shows,” she says. “The possibilities will still be there for me. I will be in a different category because of my age, but there is work for everybody.”.
