Born on March 24, 1995 at Washington Hospital in Fremont, Danica and her family moved into their Manzano Street house in 1996. Danica attended Marshall Pomeroy Elementary School, Thomas Russell Middle School and Milpitas High School, where she graduated in 2013. She was attending Ohlone College because she was thinking about becoming a nurse at the time of her death; she also was working at Forever 21 at the Great Mall. Her parents said she loved music and dance. She took ballet lessons when she was 7 years old and piano lessons when she was 8. In her senior year she even performed in a dance group at rallies at Milpitas High School, surprising her family and friends.

It “was a little bit of a shock because Danica was always the shy type, but she did, I guess I would say she had a spontaneous heart, I know she had a passion for music and dancing of all kinds,” said Jerome Corpuz, Danica’s older cousin who she considered a brother and respectfully called “Manong” ( Ilocano for older male), “She was open and receptive to new things,” added Corpuz, who is 10 year older than Danica, Every December the family would go back to visit the Philippines, where all of Danica’s maternal family lives, She loved spending Christmas and New Year’s Day with cousins who were wedding flats, navy blue bridal ballet flats, wedding shoe, navy flats, blue satin flat, bride, shower, gift, low flat wedding shoes wit around her age, as well as aunts and uncles, her mother said..

Her parents also recalled how Danica and her best friend Lavanya Kumar and other friends would go to the Great Mall to shop for clothes, watch movies and hang out from elementary school through high school. They said Danica was a good student, though she struggled with math and science and detested history. “We used to joke around that her favorite subject was P.E.,” Evangeline Bascos said. She and Evangeline shopped together, got manicures and pedicures together, and would watch Dancia’s favorite teams — the Golden State Warriors and San Francisco 49ers — play on TV.

The day before “the incident,” as they refer to the slaying, the Bascos family went to Half Moon Bay for some bonding time and on the drive home talked about going to wedding flats, navy blue bridal ballet flats, wedding shoe, navy flats, blue satin flat, bride, shower, gift, low flat wedding shoes wit Las Vegas and returning to Disneyland for Danica’s 21st birthday, where she hadn’t been since she was 8, Danica was close to her parents and paternal cousins, including Corpuz, who lived nearby, and it was this family unit and a community of friends and acquaintances who banded together to support Evangeline and Daniel in the aftermath of Danica’s death..

“Without family support, me and my wife couldn’t do this alone, this is so difficult …we can’t even think right, right now,” Daniel Bascos said, as Evangeline broke into tears and sobs as her coworker from TTM Technologies Inc. came by to offer condolences. Both Evangeline and Daniel Bascos have taken leaves of absence from work. Corpuz and his sister Jennifer Perez created a GoFundMe page that has helped raise almost $11,400 for the Oct. 25 funeral expenses. Daniel Bascos found his daughter’s body after she was slain on Oct. 5, a day he described as a nightmare.

“I am still in the shock and denial phase, For me personally, I am still waiting for her to come home,” Corpuz said, “I just tell my family you see things on TV or on TV shows, but you never think that it would happen to you, It hits hard.”, Corpuz said that as much as family and community members had stepped in to provide support, the family is at a loss at how to act and what to say, “What do you say to my aunt and uncle? We have never experienced something like this and it wasn’t due to a health issue or wedding flats, navy blue bridal ballet flats, wedding shoe, navy flats, blue satin flat, bride, shower, gift, low flat wedding shoes wit a tragic accident that happened like a vehicle, This is someone who deliberately committed this crime and took her away from us and I am still in shock and denial, it still doesn’t feel real for me,” Corpuz said..

Daniel Bascos said he wants “justice” for his daughter. Danica Bascos’ ex-boyfriend, Kevin Van Nguyen, was arrested Oct. 6 on suspicion of stabbing her. He was arraigned Oct. 8 in Santa Clara County Superior Court on charges of murder and battery. Nguyen, who is being held without bail, was arraigned on one charge of murder with a deadly weapon and intentionally lying in wait; one charge of battery against a person with whom the defendant has, or previously had, a dating or engagement relationship; and one count.
