The donations of nonperishable food items can be dropped off during business hours, Monday through Friday, at South San Francisco Scavenger Co., 500 E. Jamie Court (off East Grand Avenue and Haskins Way) or Garden Chapel, 885 El Camino Real, both in South San Francisco. Volunteers are also needed to assemble and deliver food baskets — and also toys generously donated by the community and the U.S. Marine Corps — starting at 8 a.m. Dec. 12 at South San Francisco Terrabay Fire Station 65, 1151 South San Francisco Drive, South San Francisco.
