Following the award presentations and the board installations, leading industry training and development expert Emily Ellis was the featured speaker thanks to the Retail, Hospitality and Tourism Grant Initiative awarded to Skyline College in San Bruno. The college earned the grant to lead regional advancement of the Retail, Hospitality and Tourism Program within Bay Region community colleges, under the guidance of Director Andrea Vizenor. Ellis, the founder and CEO of Education and Training Concepts, emphasized the critical role of leadership to have the right talent in roles and for leaders to continually model expected performance in the workplace, and how this ultimately impacts the workplace culture. She also talked about the essential service principals that lead to success within an organization and share examples of what these principals look like in the workplace and how to implement them.
